ONLINE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL · AGES 6–18

Be HappyDo Happy.

An online international school where children from across Asia and Oceania learn together — to find themselves, and to make the world happier.

Every child has two powers inside them: the power to be happy, and the power to make others happy. Our job is to help them discover both.

Not the fast lane to a top university. The slow build to a life that matters.

A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER

"I used to think school wasn't for me. Now I run two."

I went through Japanese public school and never quite fit. At 22, I moved overseas — and met a version of myself I hadn't known existed.

Three years ago, I started NIJIN ACADEMY in Japan for children who didn't fit either. Today, 400+ students learn there. NIJIN GLOBAL ACADEMY is the next chapter — for children across Asia and Oceania.

Two Powers

Every child has two powers inside them.

The power to be themselves — and the power to make others happy. Our job is to help them discover both.

Be Happy

The power to be yourself. Fully, and without apology.

Do Happy

The power to make others happier because you were here.

Most schools teach one or the other. We teach both — held together, inseparable.

Three Pillars

How We Learn

Three things that make NIJIN GLOBAL ACADEMY different.

Find another version of yourself.

In a classroom with friends from across Asia and Oceania, you don't just learn about other cultures — you discover the parts of yourself that only come out around different people.

Move the world through dialogue.

Twice a week, every student joins a class meeting. Not a lecture — a real conversation about climate, friendship, identity, the future. Plus 50+ hours of project-based subjects.

Learn for yourself. Use it for someone else.

Through our partnership with JICA, students take on real social challenges every month. With travel agencies, they go abroad four times a year. Learning leaves the screen and enters the world.

A Day in NGA

A typical school day, across six time zones.

Twice-weekly class meetings, weekly homeroom, and a rhythm designed so no child gets lost behind the screen.

  1. 09:00

    Morning Circle

Share today's mood — in English and Japanese — with classmates around the world.

  2. 10:00

    Core Lessons

Language, math, science, world studies — taught in small, interactive groups.

  3. 12:30

    Lunch & Free Time

Peek into each other's tables, around the world.

  4. 14:00

    Project Workshop

Small teams. Big questions. Real solutions.

  5. 15:30

    Closing Reflection

What did you learn? What will you carry into tomorrow?

Who Is This For

Is NGA the right school for your family?

Here's an honest look — both who NGA is for, and who it isn't.

You'll feel at home here if you believe:

  • A child's character matters more than their grades
  • The world is bigger than one country or one curriculum
  • Education should be about becoming someone — not just achieving something
  • Children deserve to be heard, not just taught
  • "Different" is a beginning, not a problem

This may not be the right school if you're looking for:

  • A fast-track to a top university above all else
  • A pure test-prep, exam-focused program
  • A school where children sit and listen for six hours a day

We walk our own path. Other schools walk theirs. If our path doesn't speak to your family, we honor that.

Voices

From the families walking with us.

Voices from NIJIN ACADEMY families in Japan. NGA first-cohort voices will join after we open in April 2027.

Living abroad, I was worried our daughter would lose touch with Japanese. The relief of finding a place where she meets friends from many countries — and stays connected to her own — was the moment we knew.
Parent — Singapore Daughter, age 11 (NIJIN ACADEMY Japan)
Our daughter had chosen not to attend school for over a year. Here, for the first time, she began to talk about ideas of her own — and to ask for her own audience.
Parent — Tokyo, Japan Daughter, age 14 (NIJIN ACADEMY Japan)
English wasn't my best subject. But here, I got to talk with friends from other countries — and now I want to study abroad someday.

FAQ

Questions we hear often.

Does my child need to speak English already?

No. About half of our students start with limited English. Our bilingual mentors support them in their first language while they grow into the international classroom.

My child has never thrived at a regular school. Will NGA work?

Possibly — yes. NIJIN ACADEMY in Japan started exactly for that reason, and today 400+ students learn there. Most children don't have a 'learning problem' — they have an 'environment problem.'

Can my child attend their local school in parallel?

Yes. Many of our families combine NGA with their local school. We're flexible about participation patterns — talk to us about what works for your family.

Is NGA accredited?

NGA opens as a free school (alternative education provider) in April 2027, with a Cambridge IGCSE certification path available. We're planning to pursue Cognia accreditation by 2028–2029.

What time zones do you operate in?

Our live classes run in Japan Standard Time (UTC+9), which fits families across ASEAN and Oceania (within 3 hours of JST).
